Yorkshire Air Ambulance
Yorkshire Air Ambulance is the designated charity of Delta Academies Trust.
The Charity was set up in 2000 and with the addition of the second Air Ambulance in October 2007, we were the first Air Ambulance in the UK to own and operate a Dedicated Air Desk in the UK. With the addition of the Air Ways Communication Systems, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance has developed into a sophisticated emergency service that provides state-of-the-art emergency medical care throughout Yorkshire.
The swift medical interventions provided by our Air Ambulance crews have a major impact on a patient’s chance of survival and subsequent quality of life.
In April, the academy had a mission for each class to create their own upcycled products, which were then sold to parents at auction. Altogether, through the kind donations of parents, and the hard work of children, the academy managed to raise £72.60, from rubbish that would otherwise have ended up in a landfill!
Thank you to all of you who donated!
In the Autumn term, the school council dedicated Greenpeace as the academy's chosen charity. We asked people to bring in as many 1p coins as possible. The children loved the work around the charity and gained a much deeper insight into the important work that Greenpeace carries out. Thank you to all those friends and families who helped us raise £840 for Greenpeace!
Children in Need
The school community worked together in June to raise money for a good cause. Staff, children and parents all donated a variety of buns and cakes which were then sold on the playground. The academy raised just under £80 for Dementia UK. Well done everyone!
