Our Science curriculum creates learners who question the world around them. Our Science units promote excitement and curiosity about natural occurances. We encourage pupils to develop rationale for scientific concepts. The science curriculum ( alongside the Delta Science Strategy and Empiribox resources) enables pupils to see science in action.We develop the minds and scientific knowledge of our scientists through our key drivers:

  • Building theories and hypotheses through the building of scientific knowledge and practical experiences.
  • Having the confidence to test and challenge scientific ideas.
  • Understanding the impact of scientific developments in changing the world.

The Science curriculum provides experiences and knowledge of the physical and natural world. This is gained through:

  • Observing
  • Pattern seeking
  • Identifying
  • Classifying and grouping
  • Testing
  • Using scientific research sources

Pupils learn about how to test their ideas through investigation and form conclusions. Pupils also learn about influential people and how their ideas, or work have led to the knowledge and concepts that pupils learn. These may be scientists, explorers or conservationists.
